The work is being carried out for EnCana UK, Intrepid Energy North Sea, BG Group and Edinburgh Oil & Gas and involves a 305 square kilometre survey which is expected to become a baseline for future seismic data acquisition in the area.

WesternGeco reports that similar operations have recently been completed in the neighbouring Heidrun, Magnus, Murchison and Norne fields for which its Q-Marine technology has proven the value of seismic as a critical reservoir management tool, says company Vice-President Leif Larsen.
