New Handbook for Environmental Channels
01 Aug 2002
A new handbook - available on CD-ROM - has been published that describes work carried out by HR Wallingford, the UK based consultants, to provide information with which to assess the hydraulic performance of environmentally acceptable channels. The research work was undertaken by HR Wallingford over the last five years and by many others.
The most widely used environmentally desirable options are identified and the hydraulic problems associated with these are described. The recommended procedures for determining the hydraulic performance of these environmental features are given.
Worked examples are presented to illustrate the procedures.
An example of the analysis of a channel which incorporates many of the environmental features identified is given to illustrate the application of the recommended procedure to a complete scheme.
The CD-ROM is available at £40 plus VAT from HR Wallingford.
