  • UK Government Puts Wind In Mayflower's Sails

    The British Government has given UK energy company Innogy the go-ahead for a 90MW capacity wind farm at North Hoyle, off the Welsh coast. The project will provide the first work for the Mayflower Resolution, a specialised wind turbine installation vessel under construction in China for High Wycombe UK based offshore energy contractors Mayflower.

    Following an upgrade order from the UK Ministry of Defence for its Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS) installation at HM Naval Base Devonport, Denbridge Digital has replaced the existing Apex 7000 VTS display processors with its APX-8000 latest generation VTS workstations.

    Rotterdam-based maritime services provider SMIT has announced a new organisation and corporate strategy which sees it withdrawing from maritime contracting and re-focusing on its traditional core activities of harbour towage, terminals, salvage and transport, and heavy lift. There will also be a sharper focus on client relationships, with SMIT sharing its expertise rather than imposing it.
