Navionics claims to have the most extensive database in the world of digital charts for the leisure boating market whilst SevenCs' credentials include production of a specialist software engine used by many commercial ECDIS systems.

The two companies will create an electronic chart database for use on type-approved ECDIS systems aboard commercial vessels. It is already reportedly being distributed for coverage of Europe and North America with the promise of full world coverage later this year.
