Andrews Survey Goes ROVing Off Denmark

Aberdeen based survey contractor Andrews Survey has recently completed a pipeline inspection in the Danish section of the North Sea, working in tandem with ROV operators Rovtech Ltd.
Working as an integral part of the ROV operator's team, Andrews is able to provide surface and sub-surface positioning, data acquisition, data processing and data management services during ROV pipeline inspections and surveys.
The recent ROV pipeline inspection for Maersk Olie Gas A/S was made more efficient by the use of ROV-mounted sidescan sonar to provide the near-pipeline data during CP (Cathodic Protection) and GVI (General Visual Inspection) surveys instead of using a separate ROTV for this data acquisition.
The 'fast ROV' option to acquire sidescan sonar data on the shorter in-field pipelines also proved more efficient than the towed ROTV option. The work also entailed Pipetracker depth of burial surveys.
Andrews has assisted Rovtech on many similar projects.
