Among the Transas simulator equipment presently being installed there will be the TGS 4100 Ver. 4.1 GMDSS simulator class, networked PC-based engine control room simulator ERS 2000 Ver. 5.4.2 , and the Transas ship handling simulator Navi-Trainer Professional 3000.

The configuration of the ship handling simulator is a multi-task CBT solution comprising ARPA/radar, visualisation/ conning and ECDIS workstations.

Eastwind Ship management Pte Ltd is a Japanese/American joint venture which operates over 100 vessels and actively provides technical and management support to them. The establishment of the training centre in Myanmar gives Eastwind the advantage of being able to train local crews to the latest international standards.

Meanwhile, with its world headquarters in Portsmouth UK, Transas is well placed to identify and address the growing overlap between the commercial and leisure boating sectors with regard to electronic navigation equipment.

The recent re-branding of Transas Nautic coincides with the launch of an all new website, www. transasnautic. com, providing visitors with a simple yet comprehensive guide to the product range and an on-line technical support facility. With each product, users can view a list of Frequently Asked Questions that explain everything from how to download data to connecting instruments to your computer. A Systems Requirement facility lists hardware compatibility and users can download chart information enabling them to select the correct chart for a given area.
