EEBD Meets New SOLAS Requirements
01 May 2002
All cargo ships must carry two EEBDs in accommodation spaces and passenger ships must carry at least two EEBDs in main vertical zones. For ships carrying more than 36 passengers, two additional emergency escape sets will be required in each main vertical zone.
Approved to Lloyds Register Certificate of Fire Approval and meeting the IMO requirements fully, the Draeger Saver CF constant flow EEBD is easy to use and provides up to 15 minutes of breathing air. It is fire retardant and provides effective protection against smoke inhalation, ensuring rapid, uncomplicated escape from hazardous environments.
The compact and lightweight Saver CF is supplied with an instantly recognisable, flame retardant orange carrying bag which incorporates photoluminiscent panels for easy identification at very low ambient light and visibility levels. Simple to reset in the event of a false alarm, it is automatically activated as soon as the bag is opened and can be interchanged between the chest or bandelier positions for greater freedom of movement.
The device is suitable for use with any face shape or size and by those with glasses or facial hair. A streamlined hood enhances peripheral vision and a low contents warning whistle indicates when it is nearing the end of its air supply. The cylinder contents gauge can be seen immediately via a transparent viewing window on the side of the bag, enabling quick inspection without dismantling or adjustment. The Saver CF also utilises a fail-safe reducer system to ensure a consistent airflow rate at all cylinder pressure levels.
