SMOKETITE uses flame retardant fabric to create a roll-down ceiling to floor, wall to wall screen which effectively holds back smoke from other areas in the event of an on board fire emergency, assisting fire fighting control and enabling safe evacuation of passengers and crew.

The SMOKETITE system has already been installed on vessels such as the Solidor 5 and the Millennium Star as part of their fire safety control systems.

SMOKETITE replaces heavy and bulky fire doors and is being monitored as it moves towards certification to ensure it meets the latest regulatory requirements for both manually operated screens as well as electrically operated screens controllable from the bridge. It is well suited to use on board fast ferries or other compact vessels where weight and space considerations are most important.

SMOKETITE45 can withstand temperatures of up to 1,000ºC for up to 45 minutes and SMOKETITE75 can withstand 600ºC for up to 75 minutes.

SMOKETITE120 can deal with temperatures of up to 600ºC for up to 120 minutes.

SMOKETITE roller blinds are housed in a protective anodised aluminium cassette complete with inner and outer aluminum side channels and bottom rail. Fabric edges are rivetted to prevent them coming out of the channels. Brush strip is fitted to the top of the cassette and underneath the bottom rail to prevent smoke spreading to other areas.
