The port recently handled the first shipment of the new service at King George Dock when 26,000 tonnes of granite were imported on MV Stones, a self-discharge vessel capable of discharging 3,000 tonnes per hour.

Future shipments on the service will include sharp sand and different grades and sizes of aggregates.
