Hamworthy KSE Non-Core Sales Continue

Hatlapa Uetersener Maschineenfabrik and Becker Marine Systems of Hamburg have purchased the starting air compressor and Schilling rudder business from the UK's Hamworthy KSE Ltd last month. The partnership between Hatlapa and Becker made it possible for both companies to stand together as a mutual buyer for the two different product ranges.
Hatlapa Hamworthy Marine Compressors Ltd and Becker Marine Systems UK will continue as consultant and sales branches at their Poole location, concentrating on the UK and Commonwealth markets. Both companies will be electronically linked to the mother companies in Germany.
The production of starting air compressors as well as purchasing and logistics will be shifted over the next year from England to Hatlapa in Schleswig Holstein. By taking over the Schilling rudder product line, Becker Marine Systems extend their range to claim supremacy as the world's largest maker of high capacity rudders.
For Hamworthy KSE, the sell-off continues a process of shedding profitable international companies to focus on the development and sales of waste water, pumps, inert gas, and gas systems for the shipbuilding and offshore industries.
