Trinity House required a davit system to transfer service equipment weighing up to 300kg to light vessels from support launches at sea. The specification called for manual operation from port and starboard, lightweight portability between vessels, low maintenance, ease of operation, and stowage capability when not in use.

Trinity House chose the Atlas 1200 manual davit with stainless steel sockets. It exceeds the required lifting capacity, while carbon fibre construction keeps weight below 15kg for total portability. It rotates through 360º and, when stowed, leaves a clean foredeck with no lifting equipment exposed to the weather.
