The 86m long purpose built aids to navigation tender is an unusual working boat in that it features six luxurious, air conditioned en-suite cabins as well as dining and sitting rooms, the legacy of an era when the Trinity House Board spent a great deal of time on the ship.

HRH Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh is enthusiastic in his role as Master of the Corporation of Trinity House and has also stayed on board the vessel.

His cabin is among the six now available to passengers.

The voyages are available in durations of one, two or three weeks for passengers aged 16 to 79 and will normally embark from Harwich on Wednesdays.

Depending on the positioning of the vessel, Tynemouth, Southampton or Swansea will serve as alternative ports. The voyages offer genuine potential for adventure as the Patricia's work schedule is subject to alteration at very short notice in response to marine casualties or damaged aids to navigation.

The first voyage with passengers is due to leave Harwich on 12th March, with THV Patricia scheduled to carry out buoy maintenance and casualty attendance duties in the Thames Estuary and Harwich Approaches. In addition to observing the working life of the vessel, passengers will be able to view the British coast from an unusual perspective and are likely to see an array of bird and sea life. At the discretion of the Master, visits to offshore lighthouses are a possibility.

THV Patricia is equipped with the communications links corporate bookings will require and all passengers will receive full board with high standard cuisine prepared by a dedicated Passenger Chef.

This latest Trinity House venture is being undertaken in association with Strand Voyages, the London based specialists in voyages on passenger carrying cargo vessels.
