Sustainable Construction Website Launched

CIRIA has launched a new website which aims to make construction companies more sustainable, and more costefficient, in dealing with the 100 million tonnes of construction and demolition waste produced each year in England, Scotland and Wales.
The website, www. ciria. org. uk/ recycling, enables the sourcing of more sustainable recycled material and the identification of better disposal routes for waste products, presenting subsequent cost saving opportunities by avoiding landfill charge, landfill tax and transport costs.
Visitors to the website are able to search for recycling sites by county and by materials.
The register is suitable for use by construction contractors, architects, material specifiers and material processors.
