    Rynwaal Shipyards is Busy with Work for Nigeria

    Rynwaal Shipyards based at Hardinxveld-Giessendam recently completed the two versatile ASD tugs Ohafia and Zaranda for use in Nigerian harbours and coastal waters. The pair are part of an order from the Nigerian Ports Authority for six tugs to three different specifications. A number of smaller vessels have already been delivered.

    The quest of leading boatbuilder VT Halmatic to enter the steel workboat market has taken a substantial step forward with the recent delivery of the tug/workboat Farset of Belfast . 

    Sanmar Introduce the First of the 'Nehir' Class

    Turkish tug owner and builder Sanmar Denizcilik Makina ve Ticaret Ltd of Istanbul has completed the first of two 22.5m Nehir class twin-screw tugs. The first vessel Nehir is now in service with the company's own fleet and sister-ship Nehir II will be launched by the middle of July.

    Smit Announce Acquisition of Belgium's Largest Tug Company

    In an announcement made in Rotterdam on 24 June Smit International NV reported the acquisition of a full 100% holding in Unie van Redding- en Sleepdienst NV (URS) of Antwerp. 

    A New Canadian Tug for European Operators

    When the new tug Stevns Ocean arrived in Europe a few weeks ago and was offered for deep sea towage it created a great deal of interest. The tug, reported to be the first of a pair, was constructed in Canada for Nordane Shipping A/S of Svenborg, Denmark.
