Added Power for Solstad

Norway's Ulstein Verft inUlsteinvik has added the powerful new Type A101 anchor handling tug supply vessel Normand Master to the fleet of Solstad Shipping for a wide range of offshore workhorse duties.

The vessel is equipped with a 500 ton winch and a total engine power of 3,500bhp, with a bollard pull of 285 tons. She is particularly suitable for anchor handling in deep water and can also carry out supply services as well as work in connection with subsea operations.

The 82m long and 20m wide Normand Master has a speed of 19 knots and is fitted with an A-frame SWL of 250 ton capacity on her aft deck. As with all its offshore newbuildings, Ulstein reported high-standard accommodation for 61 persons.

and said all floors, walls and ceiling structures were separated from steel structures by elastic mountings. The wheelhouse is spacious with excellent visibility in all directions. The Norwegian yard also said the contract for Normand Master, which was the fourteenth ship to be built at the yard for Solstad, was worth about NOK 350 million.
