Nuttall Wins Humber Sea Terminal Contract

seawork exhibitors Edmund Nuttall Ltd have won a £9.6m contract to extend the Humber Sea Terminal . Work for client Humber Sea Terminal Ltd hasstarted on a 40 week project to construct a 240m ro-ro jetty at the Killingholme facility.

The approach bridge will also be extended and a new adjustable ramp built for the pontoon.

Nuttall is acting as main contractor for the project and will subcontract related dredging works to UK Dredging.

The extension of facilities at Humber Sea Terminal is a measure of the positive reception it has received since opening three years ago. Its two deep water river berths provide 24 hour access and a comprehensive range of portside services for ro-ro ferries, which can steam to the main Continental European ports in 18 to 24 hours. The facility has been especially popular with ro-ro traffic transiting between the northern UK and Continental ports such as Hamburg and Hook of Holland as it considerably reduces road haulage time.
