Newage Gearboxes Sail for USA
01 Jun 2003
The first shipment of PRM marine gearboxes to the USA based Westerbeke Corporation has been dispatched by Newage Transmissions of Coventry UK following the establishment of a supply agreement between the two companies last year.
Through the contract, Coventry built gearboxes will be supplied to the Massachusetts company as its unit of choice for applications with engines rated up to 44hp.
‘Westerbeke is one of America’s leading suppliers of diesel and petrol marine engines and generators, industrial diesel generators and marine air conditioning units,’ said Newage’s technical director Clive Rayner. ‘We are particularly pleased to have won this important export contract, as it underlines the performance, durability and reliability of our units. After exhaustive testing, our PRM 80 and PRM 120 models have been selected to supercede marine gearboxes supplied by an international competitor.’
