First Waterfront Expo 2003 to Take Place at ExCeL

The first Waterfront Expo, Waterfront Expo 2003, an international waterfront conference and exhibition designed to serve the needs of professionals involved in waterfront and marina design, will be held in London 22-23 October 2003 at the ExCeL exhibition centre in London's Docklands, the organisers have announced. 

Route for New Canal Announced

British Waterways has announced the route selected to link the River Great Ouse at Bedford with the Grand Union Canal at Milton Keynes, the first new canal to be built in the UK for more than a century. 

Flexible Liner Restores Canal Bed in Lancaster Canal

A major £700,000 renovation project, which has closed off a northern section of the Lancaster Canal throughout the winter, is on course for completion this month, British Waterways has confirmed. 

HSS Turns on the Light at Samso Wind Farm

Electricity produced by the recently completed offshore wind farm at Samso, Denmark, was connected to the national grid in Denmark for the first time last month, following the official handing over of the new facility by the contractors responsible for building it.
