Wheel Mark Approval for New GPS Chartnavigator

Simrad's newly launched GN33 B/W GPS Chartnavigator is the first GPS Navigator with built-in chartplotter to gain the Wheel Mark approval awarded by BSH in Germany. Aimed at all sizes of commercial and coastal vessels, the GN33 succeeds the GN30 DGPS, which was also awarded Wheel Mark approval upon its release.

The GN33 offers a new set of functions including the Chartplotter feature, which will satisfy increased demand for approved GPS Navigators on small and medium size vessels.

Other features include a built-in chart system C-MAP NT+, integrated 14 channel GPS receiver, SGDP-WAAS, EGNOS and MTSAT, waypoints, routes, lines and tracks, external data storage on data cards, antenna position offset, relay for general alarms and relay for position missing alarms. It is prepared for NMEA 2000 and a built-in DGPS receiver is available as an option.

The new Chartnavigator offers a complete navigation package which exceeds the now mandatory IMO resolution A.819(19) and also adheres to IEC 61108-1 GPS receiver equipment, IEC 60945 environment and IEC 61162 edition 2, NMEA interface.
