German Hydrographic Society Conference

The German Hydrographic Society (DHyG) is to stage its 18th annual conference in Vienna from 16-18 June.

The venue is the river vessel, Stadt Linz, berthed in front of the Danube River Authority's headquarters.

Although proceedings will be in German, a number of English-language papers are likely to be presented while delegates are expected not only from Germany and Austria, but also neighbouring countries.

There will also be an exhibition of equipment and services.

In addition to a focus on river surveying, proceedings will deal with a wide range of hydrographic issues. Topics include Surveying of Coastal & Inland Waters, Marine Cartography & Geoinformatics, Environmental Monitoring & Coastal Zone Management, Applied Marine Geology & Geophysics, Construction & Maintenance of Shipping Channels and Harbours, Hydraulic Engineering, Hydrology, Tracing of Submerged Objects, and National & International Safety of Shipping.
