Interactive Online River Map for Port of London

A new interactive online river map has been added to the Port of London's website (see www. portoflondon. co. uk/river map) as part of a drive by the Port to increase its appeal as a key commercial gateway to the UK and Europe.

Created by the media agency Futura Interactive Ltd, it holds comprehensive and detailed information on over 70 operational terminals located along 93 miles of the River Thames and shows their geographical proximity to the regional transport infrastructure.

This information is also available in the form of a printed annual handbook. Now the Port of London has seized the potential of online digital media to convey content in a useful, user friendly and interactive format that can be updated on the fly and is therefore always current.

Users are able to zoom from a thumbnail of the entire tidal Thames to pinpoint the specific location of any terminal as well as planning and navigation along the length of the river.

The map calls upon live data and is both modular and scaleable, meaning that additional functionality can be integrated seamlessly in the future.
