The charter company operates out of Ballycastle in Moyle, County Antrim, on the very northeastern tip of Northern Ireland. It offers day and evening fishing trips for groups of up to 12 private individuals as well as local community and youth groups.

Lord Moyle is also used for coastal sightseeing trips and diving.

The installation of the M265Ti followed the accidental flooding of the engine room, which gave skipper Christopher McCaughan the opportunity to repower with an engine delivering better performance.

The wastegated, turbocharged, charge air cooled six cylinder, six litre M265Ti develops its maximum 265 hp at 2,500rpm, driving the craft to 20 knots through a ZF 1.25:1 reduction gearbox. This provides Lord Moyle with the manoeuvrability and responsive low speed handling that is essential for sea fishing and diving. At the same time, the increased performance of the new engine enables McCaughan to hunt tuna for the first time on the Gulf Stream in the North Channel between Rathlin Island to Islay in the Inner Hebrides.

According to McCaughan, the repowering operation was quickly and easily completed, with the engine having been installed by local marine diesel specialist and Finning (UK) dealer, David Anderson Marine Engineering.
