Offshore Energy Teaming Agreement Announced

Titan Environmental Services Ltd and VT Marine Services have announced a teaming agreement to supply survey services to the offshore wind and marine renewables industry.

VT Marine Services will make the research vessel Prince Madog exclusively available to Titan as a platform for geophysical survey and benthic sampling for site investigation in the North West region. The team will also be able to offer a package of services for sites on the UK east coast.

Titan has already conducted geophysical, benthic or oceanographic surveys for a number of Round One wind farm sites, including Gunfleet Sands, Barrow, Rhyll Flats, Shell Flats, Scarweather Sands, Burbo Bank and further afield at Tunes Plateau and Arklow Bank. The Round Two wind farm sites are predicted to be further offshore and in greater water depths than those selected for Round One.

The ability to deliver data in this challenging environment will be critical to a successful, cost effective survey programme.

The 35m, 390gt Prince Madog is less susceptible to weather standby than the predominantly smaller survey vessels used for Round One and is also capable of 24 hour survey operations for up to 10 days.

VT Marine Services operate the RV Prince Madog on behalf of VT Ocean Sciences, a joint venture between the University of Wales (Bangor) and the VT Group.
