IHMC UK Completes Strategy Study for CHP

International Hydrographic Management Consulting (IHMC) has completed a study on a long-term strategy for the UK Civil Hydrography Programme (CHP) on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

The CHP is responsible for hydrographic surveys around the UK in the interests of civilian users, including commercial and fishing vessels as well as leisure craft. Much of the programme's output is passed to the UK Hydrographic Office to support production of Admiralty charts and other publications.

The study involved examining current technology and that available in addition to administrative procedures. It also included making some long term projections of the work yet to be done and the time and resources that would be required to complete it under different scenarios.

Based in Monaco with offices in several other countries, IHMC specialises in providing expert advice on hydrographic management, organisation and technology for both developed and developing countries.

The IHMC group offers a wide range of much needed management services to the hydrographic and marine community. Specific expertise within the group includes hydrographic surveying, data acquisition systems, hydrographic data processing, marine navigation and offshore positioning, acoustics, marine cartography (including electronic charting), cartographic systems, maritime boundary delimitation and international liaison.
