01 Oct 2003
Thales GeoSolutions in Chessington has won a $2.7m two-year contract for provision of its SkyFix-XP satellite differential global positioning system (SDGPS) and SkyFix DGPS services to support Veritas Geophysical Corporation's global fleet of seismic survey vessels operating from Houston, Crawley and Singapore.
Thales says that it is the first long-term contract of its kind to be signed for its new-generation SkyFix-XP system which uses new techniques to provide reliable and dynamic decimetric positional accuracies anywhere in the world, regardless of proximity to reference stations.
Operating in 19 countries, US-based Veritas specialises in providing the oil and gas industries with a comprehensive range of integrated geophysical services while maintaining its own non-exclusive seismic data library of surveys.
