Following vigorous audits and inspections BP Norway awarded the approximate £1m pile remediation contract to Seacore, and within just two weeks from receiving the initial enquiry from BP Norway Seacore had mobilised all of its equipment and drilling crew on location prior to starting the intense and challenging 40-day project.

Seacore integrated the use of Rowan Gorilla 7 's drill derrick and draw works in conjunction with its own Teredo 10-40 reverse circulation drill rig to allow long stands of Seacore 300mm riser pipe to be handled to reduce pipe running activities.

'The Rowan Drilling crews worked very well with us, enabling a safe and efficient integration of our specialist large diameter drilling equipment and standard offshore oil and gas drilling equipment, ' says Seacore divisional manager Jason Clark.

Seacore has also just completed working directly for BP in Azerbaijan in BP's new Shah Deniz gas field, assisting in installing the seabed template and then directly installing 15, 42in diameter pre-conductor well casings from the semi-submersible Istiglal using Seacore's offshore Teredo 10-40 heave compensated drill and new down hole Packer Drive System.

The company is also undertaking pre-engineering feasibility for Saipem, looking at provision of heave compensated large diameter drilling equipment for pile relief drilling at the BP Clair Field.
