Macduff Pilot Cutter Nears Completion

Work is progressing at Macduff Shipyards Ltd in Scotland on a newbuild 15.25m steel pilot cutter for Aberdeen Harbour Board.
Steel for the hull was processed by the yard’s own Profiling Division and the hull was fabricated upside down on a jig. The hull was then turned over using the yard’s mobile cranes prior to fitting the aluminium alloy deckhouse structure.
The vessel is built to a design by naval architects Murray Cormack Associates and will<$>be powered by twin Scania diesels. Delivery is scheduled for this month.
