    'Royal Oak' Oil Removal Continues

    A major operation to remove oil from the wreck of HMS Royal Oak continues this summer. The warship was torpedoed by a German U-boat in 1939 while lying at anchor off Scapa Flow. 

    UK Government 'Complacent' on Oil Spill Planning

    The UK's 10,000 mile-long coastline is under threat from oil spills due to outdated local authority contingency plans, according to a paper released last month by the Environmental Industries Commission (EIC).
