NorMar Launches as Lifeboat Choice

Norwegian Maritime Equipment AS has developed a new range of lifeboats and rescue boats which includes enclosed lifeboats and free fall lifeboats as well as semi-enclosed lifeboats and rescue boats.

All are being introduced under the brand name NorMar .

The NorMar enclosed lifeboat range includes sizes from 5m to 9.35m and with capacities of from 22 to 102 people.

Available as cargo ship or tanker versions, the boats are given Bukh diesel engines as the standard propulsion unit but other makes are available as options.

Free fall lifeboats are available in sizes of from 4.9m to 8.5m and with corresponding capacities from 19 to 48 people. The drop height can be as much as 25m.

Again, they are available in cargo ship and tanker versions with the Bukh engine as standard.

Semi-enclosed lifeboats range from 7.5m to 9.6m with capacities for 45 to 150 people and Bukh propulsion as standard.

The new NorMar rescue boats range in length from 4.25 to 7.5m and can be equipped with either outboard engines or an inboard engine driving a waterjet. Regardless of type and size, all the new boats are delivered with BV-EC certificates and can be supplied with alternative certificates upon request. NME is currently working to extend the NorMar product range.
