Secret Santa Meets Working at Height Regulations

The forthcoming Working at Height Regulations in the UK represent a very different approach to health and safety.

Rather than setting rules to be abided by passively, the regulations force users to think actively about safety and conduct their own risk assessment for any situation requiring access.

Seasonal icon 'Santa' has been quick on the uptake, consulting West Sussex based access and safety specialists Facelift GB Ltd. This has led to Facelift winning the prestigious 'Christmas Present Run' contract for the entire UK. Both Santa and his transport manager 'Rudolph' have promptly completed IPAF courses at Facelift's Hickstead depot and have been conducting trials at secret south coast locations with the company's managing director, Gordon Leicester.

Fleet Street paparazzi got wind of the story, penetrated the tight security and were able to photograph one of the training exercises. Gordon Leicester felt it was best for Facelift to announce the story appropriately in Maritime Journal before it could be sensationalised by the tabloids.
