Marine Construction Day Returns to seawork

The seventh annual seawork exhibition and conference takes place in the ABP Port of Southampton from 22-24 June 2004. Recognised as the key forum for the commercial maritime industry, seawork2004 promises to be the most rewarding ever for participants, visitors and conference delegates alike.

The conference and seminar programme has always been central to the broad appeal of seawork andfollowing on from their success last year, Mackaoui Communications have been asked to organise an all day conference on Tuesday 22 June. This conference will build on last year's well received theme of waterside development and leisure to incorporate urban and coastal regeneration projects as well as waterside environmental issues. The conference will be chaired jointly by Alastair Stirling, retired senior partner of Posford Haskoning, and Anthony Oliver, editor of New Civil Engineer.

Last year, an excellent set of presentations combined with the valuable networking aspects of the day drew delegates from fields including international consulting engineers, river and coastal scientists, environmental policy makers, management consultants, planners, developers and end-users.

This year's event promises to deliver again for anyone associated with commercial and industrial maritime development, urban waterfront regeneration, coastal engineering solutions and marine renewable energy.

There are other exciting developments going forward at seawork2004 . Recognising two major exhibitor and visitor interest groups, seawork2004 will encompass two additional, tightly focused, concurrent events.

RIBwork and DIVEwork will be autonomous but sharing seawork 's exhibition halls, pontoons and conference facilities.

RIBwork will bring together an unrivalled fleet of RIBs, which will be located on a designated area of the pontoons. It will provide a unique opportunity for buyers and specifiers from the commercial sector to make comparisons of performance and specification without the distraction of leisure-orientated versions.

Mercator Media has secured the services of Vivienne Butler to promote and manage DIVEwork .Vivienne has a high profile in the dive industry as Managing Director of Diving Trade International.

Vivienne said, 'We have been planning to launch our own trade show for awhile. As the magazine has grown more successful, the industry has requested again and again that we should hold an event specifically for them.

'It takes the right blend of quality visitors as well as complementing market sectors to make a joint trade show successful and we believe we have found that in Mercator Media.

seawork has, over the years, been increasingly successful, well promoted and professional. Forming an alliance, we intend to enhance both Mercator's seawork exhibition and our own.'
