Valeport Tide Gauges for RN
01 Jan 2004
Valeport of Totnes reports a repeat order from the Royal Navy for its Model 740 portable tide gauges, to be used in support of survey applications. Also being supplied are miniSVS sound velocity sensors.
Model 740's, says Valeport's Kevin Edwards, were originally chosen by the RN for their accuracy and simplicity of operation in providing quick and easy records of water height.
In addition to a standard specification, the units were additionally supplied with a telemetry link so that measurements could be received in real-time.
The repeat order thus confirms the robustness and reliability of complete assemblies for front-line applications, with more than 380 740 units having been sold over the last three years.
The miniSVS sound velocity sensors being supplied use state-of-the-art digital time of flight acoustic technology to provide lowest noise, highest accuracy and best possible resolution of sound velocity data, adds Edwards.
