Go-ahead Given for Marine Enterprise Park at Beaumaris
01 Jul 2004
Anglesey Boat Company (ABC) in Beaumaris in Gwynned in Wales in the UK has obtained permission from Anglesey County Council for the re-development of an existing site at Beaumaris as a Marine Enterprise Park, but is still waiting for a dredging licence that will enable it to develop a new marina at the site.
The 40,000ft 2project will see ABC construct approximately 20 new business units for a wide range of marine uses, along with a new headquarters for the company and a new building for the chandlery it also runs.
Director Rupert Jones said that the enterprise park would also include a new workshop capable of accepting boats of up to 60-70ft, and another capable of handling boats of up to 50ft.
The re-development will also play host to at least three boat sales/brokerage outlets, for sailboats and power boats.
ABC was granted planning permission for the new marina - Gallows Point Marina - in a letter from the Welsh Assembly in January 2003. In March 2003, the company submitted an application to DEFRA for a licence to dredge and to construct the breakwaters as part of the marina project, but is still waiting for a decision.
