New Light Buoy Shines for Pharos

Middlesex UK based Pharos Marine has added the new PM-1800 rotationally moulded polyethylene buoy to its comprehensive IALA compliant range. The new buoy is designed to provide a cost effective and lightweight buoy marker for a wide range of applications and conditions.

The PM-1800s superstructure can accommodate up to four 80W solar panels.

It can be used in fast current applications and has large reserve buoyancy allowing use in deep waters where a long mooring chain is required.

The robust construction of the buoy enables it withstand minor knocks and collisions without damage. Because it is made of rotationally moulded polyethylene, the PM-1800 combines the advantages of low weight, great strength and easy maintenance. It is UV stabilised and self-coloured so does not require painting. Closed cell foam filling gives extra rigidity and also makes the buoy virtually unsinkable. The PM-1800 has four lifting eyes and up to four mooring eyes. All steelwork is easily replaceable stainless steel grade 316L.

The skirt allows the Pm-1800 to be used even in shallow waters and it can also be stood upright on the deck of a maintenance vessel.

Its slotted configuration reduces underwater pressure and forces causing lateral pull vortices in fast currents. The buoy superstructure is able to accommodate up to four 80W solar panels and two 115Ah batteries and also has an integral step to facilitate easy access to the wide range of lanterns that can be fitted.
