Izar's Third Set of Twins for Jan De Nul

Izar Gijon Shipyard has delivered two more trailing suction hopper dredgers to Belgian contractor Jan De Nul .The 4,400m 3capacity twins Taccola and Francesco di Giorgio bring to eight the number of dredgers delivered by Izar in the last two years, six of which have been for Jan De Nul .
Izar Gijon has recently delivered 5,000m 3and 8,500m 3trailers to the French company Dragages Ports. The biggest of these recent newbuilds, at Izar's Sestao yard, were the 16,000m Kaishuu 3trailers and Juan Sebastian Elcano . The Sestao yard also built the 11,500m 3twins Filippo de Brunelleschi and Francis Beaufort . The latest set of newbuilds measure 95.4m LOA and will dredge to 21 and 24.3m respectively through a 900mm diameter suction pipe. Two 2,150kW propulsion engines will take the vessels to 12.3 knots.
