Imperial College London Acoustics Courses

Imperial College London is convening three short courses on technical developments in underwater acoustics, from fundamentals to applications, from 6-10 September.
Organised by ICL 's Centre for Professional Development , each course will be conducted by two leading experts, Professor Rodney Coates and Dr John Goold, and will involve use of latest modelling software to guide participants from fundamentals through to applications.
All sessions are suitable for those developing, specifying or using sonar equipment for defence, offshore, acoustic surveying and wildlife monitoring applications.
Participants are encouraged to attend the opening course from 6-8 September which will deal with the basics of underwater acoustics including mechanisms of sound propagation, the impact of noise and reverberation produced by ocean environments, and the basic structure and performance of contemporary sonar equipment.
