Westfalia has thus designed its new range of centrifugal separators to achieve the more exacting level.

The WTC 2 separates oil, water and solids, allowing the oil to be sent to the waste oil collection tank for subsequent disposal, while solids are collected for separate disposal and clean water discharged safely into the sea.

An intelligent control and monitoring system enables problem-free unmanned operation around the clock, ensuring that only water with an oil content below the legal limit can be discharged overboard.

When there is a high proportion of emulsified oil in the water phase or when even cleaner water is required, the unit can be equipped with a dosing system to break down the emulsions.

This can reduce the oil content in clean water to less than 5ppm.

The separator system can be supplied as a single compact unit which includes the separator, pump and control unit all mounted on a single skid base.

Under normal conditions, and without the use of chemical dosing or absorption filters, the WTC 2 can provide clean water with a residual oil content of 10 to 12 ppm.
