'Island Fox' Delivers Workboat Training
01 May 2004
In response to ever increasing demand for workboat training, Scotland's Seatrek Training has added the 45ft twin engined Nelson Island Fox to its training fleet. The new Category 2 coded acquisition offers increased scope for larger vessel training and will be used to deliver all Seatrek's RYA Advanced Powerboat, Coastal Skipper and Yachtsman courses.
Trainees will be comfortably accommodated on board for the duration of their courses, making use of the well equipped galley for full board self catering.
Customers are finding the new packages are a cost effective way of meeting full training needs at an all-inclusive price.
The popular RYA Powerboat Level 2 uses Klingon , a 6.4m BWM RIB with full commercial specification, reinforced hull and a 200hp outboard engine.
An additional RIB is available to run together with Klingon toaccommodate larger groups.
Seatrek Training is looking to add Workboat Stability and Deck Crane courses to its schedule this summer. Other industry specific courses running throughout the year include SRC (GMDSS) Marine Radio, Sea Diesel Engine Maintenance, Sea Survival, and HSE First Aid courses.
Many of Seatrek's scheduled courses take place in Ardrishaig on Loch Fyne, but the team is able to travel to locations throughout Scotland to deliver tailored training where it is needed.
The company's customers now include major fish farming and workboat operators throughout the UK as well as HM Coastguard.
