All Castoldi units also feature a weight saving integrated gearbox, available in 18 different ratios for perfect matching to the engine. This gearbox places the input shaft above the impeller shaft, enabling an engine installation close to the jet for maximum space within the boat.

The low placed impeller shaft permits a straight and flat duct which lowers the centre of thrust while increasing stability, manoeuvrability and improving high speed efficiency.

Other Castoldi features include a moveable debris screen, operated after disengaging the jet unit, which performs an effective anti-clogging operation by rejecting debris through the two stage opening of the profiled grid bars. All bearings are oil lubricated and there is an integrated water pick-up for engine cooling.

The Turbodrive 238 - HC is supplied with a hydraulic steering helm, a hydraulic electrically controlled reversing deflector with its own indicator and the electric control of the hydraulic clutch. All rams and valves are placed inside the boat and supported on the same water jet case for easy installation and simple maintenance.
