UK Cleans Up

The UK's Maritime and Coastguard Agency published its 2003 survey of reported discharges attributed to vessels and offshore oil and gas installations operating in the country's pollution control zone last month. It shows an overall 16.8% reduction in reported discharges of pollutants into the sea. During 2003 there were four successful oil pollution prosecutions with another case waiting to be called.
