    Davits Complete North Sea Jigsaw

    After four years of developing the concept, Norwegian davit and boat handling systems manufacturer Vestdavit hassecured the contract to supply all davits to BP's Project Jigsaw , a totally new concept for offshore rescue and recovery operations in the North Sea. 

    SCT's Cranes Lifted for Bigger Boxships

    Southampton Container Terminal has recently awarded Seward Lyon Ltd the contract to raise the height of five Morris quayside gantry cranes on its 204-205 container berths. 

    Cranes Ordered for Antwerp's New Terminal

    Sweden headquartered Kalmar has two won orders from PSA/Hesse-Noord Natie for a total of eight super post-Panamax ship to shore (STS) container cranes for the Deurganckdok and Quay 913 in the port of Antwerp. With an outreach of 56m, these high speed, heavy duty cranes will be capable of handling ships over 20 containers wide. 

    New Crane Distributor Lifts Off

    Italian crane manufacturer Amco Veba took part in seawork for the first time this year, represented in the UK by the new company Idle, managed by Stuart Gilligan. 

    Cranes' Chains Change on Thames

    West Midlands UK crane manufacturer J Barnsley Cranes (JBC) has won a rollover contract to service, refurbish or replace all the cranes, hoists and jibs it supplied for the Thames Barrier when London's flood defence system was first constructed over 30 years ago.
