From Ense-Hoingen in Germany comes Cleemann Chair-Systems GmbH with a range of seating options which offer versatility and reliability on the bridge. A key development from Cleemann which will be on display at Seawork is a sliding device for pilot chairs.

Many pilot chairs are static and non-revolving, thus providing limited flexibility for the pilot, especially in the context of cockpit style wheelhouses.

Cleemann's pilot chairs offer fore and aft adjustment up to 150 mm but their sliders, using roller bearings, provide easy, precise and smooth sliding over lengths of up to 5m or more.

The pilot chair can be mounted upon these devices, which are almost maintenance free and are corrosion resistant, as the upper steel plate is constructed from stainless. A footrest with chamfer rubber is available for use with or without the sliding devices in applications where a higher seating position is required.

The chairs themselves are available in a variety of colours and upholsteries. All chairs feature a combined seat height and angle adjustment, backrest angle adjustment, plus fore and aft adjustment. Available accessories include headrests, foldable armrests, orthopaedic lumbar support, and retractable seat belts.

Top of the Cleemann range is a 'Comfort Pilot Seat' for intensive use situations. It features foldable footrests which enable standing and special lashing lugs for fixing the chair in compliance with safety requirements.
