The DKG400 cranes will be used on board to facilitate repairs and maintenance of the dredging installation and for handling heavy weights of up to 25 tons.

With an outreach of 15.5m, the cranes will travel along the vessels at a stepless, frequency controlled speed of up to 10m/min and have a slewing speed of 0.25rpm.

The SWL of the two main winches is 20 tons and the auxiliary winch has an SWL of 5 tons. The two main winches are able to lift 25 tons in tandem mode. Maximum outreach of the main winch is 15.5m, for the auxiliary winch outreach is 17.5m and both can lift to a height of 18.5m. Height from the deck to the underside of the gantry is 7m, gantry rail span is 9m, and the travelling distance is 66m for the 55 ton cranes.

Designed and constructed to Bureau Veritas rules and regulations, the cranes feature thermal overload devices for all electric motors, overload protection, maximum tensile force protection for the power feed cable, a siren when in motion, warning lamps, emergency stops, and limit switches for hoisting, lowering and travelling.

Dreggen Cranes' offices and production facilities are located by the seaside in Bergen, with a deepwater quay on Norway's west coast. With 30 employees and annual sales of $10m, Dreggen's range of lifting equipment also includes monorail provision cranes, engine room cranes, hose handling cranes, provision handling cranes and cargo handling cranes.
