£1.1m Ashtead Oorder for VT TSS

Introduced last year, Marinus is claimed to provide exceptional accuracy in all conditions, enabling multibeam sonar users to operate in moderate to severe sea states whenever required.

Facilitating precise heading, heave, roll and pitch correction data, the first units have already been delivered to Ashtead Technology for rental via any of its main offshore support bases in Europe, Asia, West Africa and the US.

Other equipment being supplied under the contract includes four Meridian attitude and heading reference systems, six Meridian Surveyor gyrocompasses and a further nine TSS 440 pipetrackers. The unprecedented size of the order, says Ashtead Technology's Managing Director, Andy Doggett, reflects growing worldwide demand for proven state-of-the-art survey equipment coupled with ready availability at short notice.
