Reson to Be Cheerful

Southampton UK based hydrographic surveyors Emu Ltd have taken delivery of a Reson SeaBat 8101 multibeam echosounder. The integrated multibeam system is also comprised of Reson PDS2000 data acquisition and processing software, Reson SVP-15 sound velocity probe and a TSS MAHRS attitude and heading sensor.

The Reson SeaBat 8101 was chosen for its reliable and accurate soundings across its entire 1500 swath width.

The system was also supplied with Sidescan and Snippets, giving Emu the capability to record high resolution backscatter data.

The Reson SeaBat 8101 will enable Emu to conduct bathymetric surveys in the extremely testing environments of strong currents and high turbidity within lakes, rivers, estuaries, channels and coastal areas. The small object detection capability and characteristic clean data is already being proven as the system is currently being using in offshore wind farm site surveys.

Reson's Bolgna based office, Reson Mediterranean Srl, has also had a recent success. In cooperation with Reson's Egptian representative, Surveying System, it has delivered and completed the installation of a survey system which includes a Reson SeaBat 8124 multibeam system and PDS2000 software to the Hydrographic Division of the Egyptian Navy. The award also includes the training of Egyptian Navy personnel, including both theoretical and practical training on the sonar hardware and software. The Hydrographic Division is involved in frequent sea surveys in connection with the monitoring of commercial marine activity in Egyptian waters such as pipeline and site surveys.
