Klyne Group has been closely associated with LEC Marine and with the marine maintenance division in particular for over 20 years. Klyne Group chairman Roger Klyne expressed his determination to try to recover LEC Marine from Administration because of this close relationship and to help avoid the potential loss of vital expertise. He is also anxious to secure where possible continued employment for staff in an area that is becoming more and more susceptible to job losses. It is also understood that discussions between other potential buyers and the Administrators are ongoing in relation to other divisions of LEC Marine.

It is anticipated that the new business, which will trade as LEC Marine (Klyne) Limited, will be able to offer employment to 20 persons initially but it is hoped to consolidate and develop the company over the next few months. Mark Sawyer, who has been with LEC Marine for many years will become a Director of the new company and will be fully responsible for day-to-day operations and business development.
