Reclamation Contract Awarded

Dutch dredging and marine contractor Van Oord has been awarded a contract for constructing the entrance to and reclamation of land for the construction of a cruise terminal on the Turk & Caicos islands. The client is Bahamas based T&C Cruise Terminals Ltd , and the total value of the contract is some 3 million.

Work was due to start this month and the project is scheduled for completion in March 2005. Van Oord will deepen the entrance to the future cruise terminal by 10m. A total volume of 350,000m 3is involved. The dredged material is to be used for the reclamation of the terrain. Van Oord will deploy cutter suction dredger Hercules.
