01 Jun 2005
C-Map of Norway and Lloyd's Register-Fairplay (LRF) have concluded an agreement for mutual improvement and promotion of their respective products.
These include C-Map's Oceanview GIS for use in office locations, which is designed for installation by ship-owners, shipbrokers, managers and ship operators. Based on the established CM93-3 chart database, it provides entry into worldwide coverage of electronic vector charts and will be promoted by LRF as a standard package and includes charts from C-Map's CM93-3 Professional and CM-ENC databases as well as integration with LRF's Ports and Terminals Guide.
Listing information on over 8,300 ports and terminals worldwide, each Guide entry specifies details such as location of port, description, pre-arrival requirements, principal navigation contstraints, details of berths, tanker terminal facilities, mooring data and documentation.
Additionally, it also includes contact details for over 13,000 port service providers such as agents, bunker suppliers, stevedores, chandlers and repair companies. Other sections specify over 4,000 port plans, mooring diagrams, photographs and maps, a full-colour maritime atlas and comprehensive distance tables.
