The new flexible Furuno FAR-2107 and FAR-2807 radar series with 'black box configuration' and flat panel multi-colour LCDs have become BSH approved together with Furuno's new ECDIS concept FEA-2107 and FEA-2807 series and the FHP-2000 adaptive Auto/ Trackpilot series.

The interconnection of these are now BSH approved to be used as an Integrated Navigation and Track Steering System.

The type approval of the individual instruments as well as their interconnection results in the fact that shipyards and ship owners no longer need to have individual classification societies to undertake their own performance tests of the system configuration.

Thus, by choosing the Furuno Voyager Bridge configurations, the entire bridge system is automatically fully approved as an Integrated Navigation and Track Steering System, saving time and money for both shipyards and owners.

Furuno's new man-machine interface enables user customisable operation, including full keyboard control with user defined function keys as well as a new trackball control unit.

The operator can choose between working with established Furuno keypads or take advantage of the new re-designed controls with logical menu-driven trackball cursor operation.

With its modular console design, the Voyager can be customised to fit most bridge environments, making it easy to install on new or existing vessels.
