    HATLAPA Extends to the Eastern Mediterranean

    HATLAPA Uetersener Maschinenfabrik has extended its activities in the eastern Mediterranean. In addition to locations in Uetersen (Germany), Poole (England), Singapore, and Shanghai, HATLAPA EastMed Ltd commenced operations at Limassol in Cyprus last month.

    Heavy Lift for Light Load

    After delivering its heaviest ever load last year, the 59,500 ton Thunderhorse production platform for BP , Dockwise Shipping has now transported its lightest load ever. The company's headquarters at Breda in the Netherlands mobilised the dock ship Enterprise to transport a Zeppelin NT airship weighing only 700 kilos from Amsterdam to South Africa. 

    Crane Gain for NME

    Norwegian Maritime Equipment (NME) has won a ? 500,000 order to supply ten marine cranes for five new Norwegian coast guard vessels, the first of which is scheduled for launch by the end of this year. The order was received from the Sczecin Ship Repair Yard Gryfia SA in Poland, which is building the vessels for Remoy management AS and Remoy Shipping AS. 

    Swell Compensator System Lifts Crane Capacity

    Hytop BV has designed, produced, delivered, tested and operated two swell compensator systems which will enable Genius Vos to handle heavy loads on the open sea. Key to the system is ensuring that a crane which can take a 280 ton static lift load but is not equipped to respond to rapidly changing loads does not experience more than 50 tons jump load while 150 ton platform structures are being lifted from a supply vessel at sea.

    In a continuing policy of acquiring companies which complement its current portfolio, Norway's TTSMarine ASA has signed a final sale and purchase agreement to acquire Germany's Kocks GmbH of Bremen. 

    Winch Drives Delivered to Tight Schedule

    West Yorkshire UK based hydraulic motors and drive systems manufacturer Hagglunds Drives was selected by Subsea 7 to supply two drive systems plus auxiliary supplies for ROV handling on the vessel Skandi Neptune .The power units are in the familiar cabinet style of Hagglunds and suitable for on-deck operations, complete with the drive controls and Spider monitoring system. Also manufactured by Hagglunds, this provides constant power control to maximise the line speed available.
